Commission approves several land-use items, property sale and staffing actions
Summary
The board approved a conditional-use permit for parking commercial vehicles (limited through July 1, 2026), a zone change and CUP for multifamily dwellings, a minor subdivision, accepted a bid to sell a county parcel in Tioga, authorized on-call engineering firms and approved staff recruitments and routine agreements.
During routine planning and administrative business the Williams County commission approved several land-use items and administrative actions.
Mason Moe conditional use permit (LUDash0096-25). Planning staff recommended a shorter, temporary conditional use permit following neighbor complaints about the scale of overnight vehicle parking. Commissioners approved the permit with the Planning & Zoning–recommended expiration of July 1, 2026; the roll call showed three commissioners in favor and two opposed.
Richard Sherman / WP North Dakota (LUDash0098-25). The commission approved a zone change to urban residential and a conditional-use permit for multifamily dwellings on a two-acre parcel in Tyrone Township, adding a condition that the applicant be responsible for on-site road maintenance and snow removal.
Michelle Stewart minor subdivision (LUDash0105-25). The board approved a two-lot minor subdivision and associated variances following Planning & Zoning recommendation.
Property sale and administrative approvals. The commission accepted the higher bid for a county parcel in Tioga and authorized the chair to sign sale documents and related closing paperwork. The board also approved a roster of engineering firms for 2026–27 on-call work, authorized recruitment to replace an engineering PE, and authorized the chair to sign two budgeted agreements for dispatch logging/recording services and adolescent shelter-care compliance paperwork.
