PAC hears updates on Safe Routes to School, micro‑mobility procurement and road repair plans

On micro‑mobility, staff reported the council supported pursuing procurement and directed staff to research fees and vendor arrangements; staff are preparing an RFP team and meeting biweekly to develop the program.
In road maintenance updates, public-works staff identified candidate streets for crack sealing, fog coats, full overlays and restriping. Where full-depth resurfacing or overlays are scheduled (for example, a Vista/Linda Vista mill-and-overlay candidate noted by staff), the city can create two-foot bike buffers and reconfigure striping to improve cyclist space; staff also highlighted opportunities to add sidewalks where pavement work allows.
Appointments: staff confirmed Transportation Commission made appointments to fill PAC vacancies and that PAC is currently at full membership; staff will solicit applications when future vacancies appear.
What’s next: Staff will continue outreach on Safe Routes to School, coordinate the micro‑mobility RFP work and refine roadway resurfacing designs to capture opportunities for bike buffers and sidewalks.
