The nomination was offered from the floor and seconded; the council then moved to a roll-call confirmation. Clerk Missus Leary recorded affirmative votes from Lasher, Casey, Cashman, Gilbert, Champlin, Valella and Mayor Wertman, producing a unanimous result.
The election followed opening formalities including oaths of office for newly seated members and the Pledge of Allegiance. Council members and the mayor congratulated Flasher after the vote.
The council did not debate the nomination on the record and took up one substantive ordinance-related item later in the meeting before adjourning.
