The Tinley Park Village Board on Jan. 6 adopted Resolution 2026‑R‑001 authorizing the village to execute a development agreement with the proponent of the Interstate Sports Dome.
Trustee Shaw, who introduced the resolution, told the board the item had been discussed at the Committee of the Whole earlier in the evening and asked trustees to "please consider authorizing the execution of a development agreement for the Interstate Sports Dome." Trustees noted the parcel in question had been vacant for many years and said residents are enthusiastic about an active use for the site.
The resolution was moved and seconded and adopted by roll call vote; the president announced the motion carries. The staff report and prior Committee of the Whole discussion were cited during consideration; no public comments were offered at the meeting on this item.
Next steps include execution of the development agreement by authorized village representatives and any subsequent implementation steps required by the agreement and by village code. The village did not provide funding details or a construction schedule during the meeting.
