Councilwoman Lisa Perry was formally elected council president at the Orange Village Council's special meeting on Jan. 7, following a motion to nominate her and a roll-call vote that recorded unanimous support from members present. Perry accepted the role and assumed the chair.

The nomination for Perry was introduced by a speaker who cited her long service and leadership roles, noting she had ‘‘served as council president multiple times’’ and chaired several committees. After the vote, Perry said she appreciated the opportunity to serve another year.

The council likewise nominated and approved Stacy Vincent as council president pro tem. A motion to nominate Vincent was seconded and passed by roll-call vote.

Members approved the minutes of the special council meeting on Dec. 3, 2025, and the council meeting of Dec. 10, 2025; the Dec. 10 approval included one recorded abstention. The council also voted to declare a 2017 Ford Explorer (VIN 1FM5K8AR7HGC878839) and a Stair Climber model ST-9000 surplus, citing vehicle mileage (reported as over 107,000 miles) and equipment condition as the basis for disposal at the mayor’s discretion.

On a pending legislative matter, the council agreed to table Ordinance 2025-26 until next week after a motion to delay further consideration. Before adjourning into executive session, the chair said the session would be held to discuss ‘‘the appointment, compensation and discipline of Orange Village employees’’ and that no formal action would be taken that evening. The council approved the move to executive session by roll-call.
