MUNCIE, Ind. — The Muncie Board of Works and Safety on Jan. 7 elected a new slate of officers and approved meeting minutes and $1,147,152 in claims.

Speaker 3 moved that the board name Ted Baker president, Lola Mar vice president and Linda Gregory clerk/secretary; the motion was seconded and adopted by voice vote. Speaker 3 then moved approval of the Dec. 30 meeting minutes "as presented," which was seconded and approved by voice vote.

Craig Wright presented the register of claims, describing mostly smaller payments for health care and utilities and noting several bond payments appearing as electronic funds transfers. Speaker 3 moved approval of claims totaling $1,147,152; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. No roll-call vote tallies were recorded in the transcript.

The Board processed these routine items at the start of the session before taking up a memorandum of understanding presented by the mayor that the board entered into the record. With no additional business the board adjourned.
