Council elects Councilor Clemmer vice president, 6–3

Councilor Derek Perry and Councilor Clemmer were nominated from the floor. Both candidates and several endorsers spoke during the organizational meeting. Perry highlighted his committee work and ties to downtown businesses and arts groups; supporters of Clemmer emphasized her record chairing community resources, consistent attendance and administrative experience.
After candidate remarks and discussion, councilors announced their choice in an oral roll-call-style vote. The chair announced the tally as 6 votes for Clemmer and 3 votes for Perry; Clemmer was declared vice president.
Clemmer will serve as vice president alongside President Rachel Maiori and is expected to assist with agenda preparation and meeting management for the term.
