The City of Sebastian Natural Resources Board conducted officer nominations at the Jan. 6 meeting and accepted Charles as chair and Tom as vice chair.

Speaker 6 nominated Charles for chair; Charles accepted the nomination. Moderator nominated Tom for vice chair; Tom accepted. Staff (speaker 2) explained that when only one individual is nominated for an office, no roll-call confirmation is required and the nominee is assumed selected unless another nomination is offered. A voice assent was recorded and board members congratulated the nominees.

One board member urged staff to consider additional outreach tactics to encourage broader participation in future officer selections, stressing the need to allow others to feel comfortable putting themselves forward.

No contested vote or formal roll-call was recorded for the appointments. The board will proceed with Charles as chair and Tom as vice chair for upcoming meetings and business.
