Missoula County commissioners voted to adopt the county’s zoning regulation maintenance update, a routine set of clarifications and corrections to the zoning code.
Lauren Ryan, a county planner, told commissioners the changes stem from an ongoing annual maintenance process. The county posted a notice and held a 30‑day comment period that produced no new comments requiring changes to the draft resolution, and the Planning Board recommended unanimous adoption.
Commissioners moved and voted unanimously to adopt the resolution, which the county said implements minor clarifications intended to make existing regulations easier to understand and apply. Staff emphasized the maintenance updates do not alter the substantive role of community councils or existing bylaws; separate bylaw changes would be handled in a different process.
The county packet includes the staff report with findings of fact and conclusions that supported the board’s decision.
