City breaks ground on Housing Hub, calls it a step toward a long-term sheltering strategy

Marquez said the Housing Hub will provide overnight shelter and wraparound services aimed at helping people transition to permanent housing. She positioned the facility alongside existing efforts such as Streets2Home and several affordable-housing initiatives and said local continuum-of-care partners will play a role in service delivery.
The announcement did not provide a construction completion date or budget figures. Marquez described the shelter as a long-term addition to the city’s homelessness-response toolkit, intended to work in tandem with rapid rehousing and other supportive programs.
