During the public-comment portion of the Nov. 25 meeting, Charlie Powell identified himself as representing a nonprofit he called "Panic" and asked the council to respond to a draft he left describing ongoing problems around a Superfund-site area in the North Side.
Powell said the neighborhood is "not getting any better" and that previous local leaders had failed to address the issue. He told the council he had documents supporting his statements, left copies with staff and asked for a follow-up response and engagement with new council members: "I would like to get a response from this because our neighborhood is not getting any better… I left my card on here. I would like to get a response from this."
The clerk said staff would collect Powell's materials and distribute them to council members. No formal motion, directive or timeline for a staff response was recorded in the transcript. Powell said he plans to resume neighborhood meetings and invited council members to attend.
The meeting record does not include a staff reply or a scheduled follow-up; the issue remains an unresolved public request on the record.
