Residents raise local concerns and promote events during Bullhead City call to the public

Several residents used the meeting's call-to-the-public segment to raise concerns and share community events.

Stephen Lee opened public comment by warning about a so-called "great reset" and urged local vigilance; he offered brochures and referenced global organizations and public-health discussions. Rose Jacobs, speaking for the Colorado River Concert Series, promoted the group's 51st season (single tickets $35, season tickets $100) with upcoming performances at Mohave County High School and encouraged attendance. Diana Lestat of the Bullhead City Elks Lodge described the annual free-throw hoop shoot for children on Dec. 13 at the Boys and Girls Club (2250 Highland Road).

Sean Regan commended a utility provider for resolving a prior complaint and requested the council review long-standing space/lease agreements held by nonprofits after finding a 2021 agreement in public records. Bob Arp (U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary) thanked parks and rec staff for supporting boating-safety classes that award a boating card valid in all 50 states. Paula Fontes Embi spoke about veteran services and urged residents to call legislators regarding perceived cuts to benefits and hotline staffing.

A speaker identifying himself as Scotty (a veteran) disputed a prior comment on veterans' access and then described difficulty obtaining a collision report related to a Nov. 10 accident on Marina Boulevard, saying he had been told the report would take 30 days. Larry Toonforce promoted the 27th annual BoomBox Parade (dec. 13 event night) and related holiday programming, including tree lighting and caroling schedules.

Council members acknowledged the public comments, and staff said some issues could be placed on future agendas for review.
