Christian County commissioners approved a small budget adjustment Jan. 9 to the 'card fund' after staff said late‑arriving receipts caused the fund to exceed its FY2025 allocation.
An auditor/resource staff member explained that the adjustment moves funds within the card fund so recent disbursements are covered. A motion to approve the adjustment was made, seconded and approved by the commission.
Commissioners also announced that a separate meeting at 9 a.m. the following morning will include a budget adoption hearing and an appropriation order. The presiding commissioner highlighted the county’s online budget transparency portal and encouraged residents to review the 503‑page budget on the county website.
Why it matters: The adjustment addresses accounting and appropriation accuracy for the fiscal year; the adoption hearing is the next required step for the county budget.
What’s next: The commission will meet the next morning for the formal budget adoption and appropriation vote; residents can review budget details on the county website and contact commissioners with questions.
