Commission adopts bylaws, asks county to draft resolution thanking Gordon Brooks

The Louisa County Planning Commission approved its annual bylaws and asked the county to draft a resolution honoring Commissioner Gordon Brooks during its Jan. 8 meeting.

Chair John Dissisway noted the commission is required to approve bylaws in January. One suggested edit — changing the phrase "a representative" to "the representative" in the public hearings section — would require a noticed public hearing if the commission wished to adopt it. A commissioner said they were "happy with the way it is without making that change," and the commission moved, seconded and approved the bylaws by roll call.

Separately, Commissioner Dickerson moved that the county draft a resolution "thanking mister Brooks for his years of service on the planning commission." That motion was seconded and approved by roll call.

Staff reported there are no completed land-use amendment applications for the February meeting, that one agricultural and forestal district application will go to the review committee the week before the commission and be scheduled for public hearing, and that the CIP public hearing will appear on the February agenda. Butler also conveyed that Ashley Michael, the Town of Louisa liaison to the commission, could not attend the meeting but looks forward to working with the commission.

The meeting closed with birthday wishes to Butler and the commission adjourned after roughly 17 minutes.
