Louisa County Planning Commission elects John Dissisway chair, names Dickerson vice chair

The Louisa County Planning Commission elected John Dissisway as its 2026 chairman and Commissioner Dickerson as vice chairman during a brief Jan. 8 meeting.
Linda Butler, the county’s director of community development, opened the meeting and the commission took nominations for the chair’s office. "I would like to nominate mister John Dissisway as chairman," a commissioner said, and another commissioner seconded the nomination. The commission closed nominations, held a roll call and confirmed the election.
After returning the gavel to the newly elected chair, the commission opened nominations for vice chair. A commissioner nominated Commissioner Dickerson; the nomination was seconded, nominations were closed by motion and a roll call confirmed Dickerson’s election as vice chair.
The organization of officers is the commission’s annual procedural step at the start of the calendar year. The newly elected chair and vice chair will preside over the commission’s upcoming public hearings and administrative agenda items.
The meeting moved on promptly to agenda items; there were no contested races or public comments related to the officer elections.
