School police report training, recruits expected to boost staffing to 15 by September

Officer Moseley briefed the committee on recent training and staffing for school safety, saying the department conducted juvenile-law training with attorney John Schaff and took part in MILO simulation training at the Cape Cod Police Academy.
"It was a really good class to update us on juvenile law," Moseley said, and described MILO simulations as realistic, computer‑based exercises that reinforce situational awareness, firearms proficiency and de-escalation tactics. He told members the department conducted safety-team training at the high school prior to the holiday break.
Moseley said the department currently has 12 officers; three recruits are in the academy and "they expect to be on board by September, which will bring our staffing up to 15 officers." He also announced Officer Cheney will complete field-training officer (FTO) training the following day.
The committee did not take action on the staffing report; members thanked Moseley and moved on to other agenda items.
