The board took routine governance steps and heard staffing updates at its end-of-year meeting.
Nominations resulted in the unanimous election of Mike Melton as chair and Brian Modolo as vice chair for the coming year. Members voted by voice and the chair returned the gavel to conclude the nominations.
County licensing staff reported three citations issued since the last meeting, 17 new contractor-investigation (CIL) cases opened, and 36 cases in process. Investigators performed 74 field contacts and returned 172 calls in the past month. Ben Bailey, community development director and acting building official, said building official Sean McNulty left for a position in Clermont and Bailey will serve as acting building official while recruitment proceeds; Daryl Dillo was promoted to deputy building official.
Board member Diane Quilty asked that future meeting packets include fuller case materials (photographs and detailed investigative histories) and draft minutes so citizen members can prepare; staff said packets included the documentation provided by code officers and agreed to improve distribution.
