Charlotte County Transit was recommended by the MPO on Dec. 15 to be designated by the Florida Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged as the county’s Community Transportation Coordinator (CTC) for a five‑year term beginning July 1, 2026.

Lakshmi Goram told the board the designation requires a memorandum of agreement and a resolution; the draft MOA and recommended MPO resolution were included in the meeting packet and have been reviewed by MPO legal staff. The current CTC appointment expires June 30, 2026.

The board moved, seconded and approved the resolution unanimously. "Heidi will do a fantastic job," the chair said in support of the recommendation. The recommendation will be forwarded to the state commission for final designation.
