Commission adopts 2026 reorganization, gap-waiver and awareness proclamations

Commissioners also approved a GAAP-related gap waiver (resolution 010826A) requesting the Director of Accounts and Reports to waive certain financial-reporting requirements under KSA 75-11-20a for the year ending Dec. 31, 2026; county staff noted that Kansas municipal accounting procedures (KAMAG/CAMAG) and statutory procedures remain in place. The board appointed Wally Wolf to the county planning commission for a three-year term under resolution 010826B.
The meeting included two awareness proclamations presented by a Domestic Violence Association of Central Kansas (DVAC) representative. The board designated January 2026 as Human Trafficking Awareness Month and Stalking Awareness Month and discussed related outreach opportunities such as 'Wear Blue Day' and resource presentations.
