County approves $117,571 contract to provide law-enforcement services to City of Solomon

County administration said the contract reflects a decades-long service arrangement. The agreement specifies coverage during school days and high-school events unless deputies are otherwise assigned. County staff confirmed the contract had been reviewed by the city’s attorney and showed signatures from Randy Gray and Andrea Cook on the document.
Commissioners moved and seconded the measure and approved it by voice vote. The sheriff will continue to act as the chief law-enforcement representative in Solomon and will attend city council meetings as appropriate.
Why it matters: The contract sustains municipal policing services via a county-city interlocal agreement and sets the reimbursement level for the coming year; it is a routine but significant recurring expenditure for the county.
