Longtime library employee announces retirement as renovation nears completion; open house set for Jan. 24

Board and staff updates that followed noted progress on the renovation: offices and staff workspaces have been moved back into new areas, a few punch-list items remain (notably a wall mural), and some interior touches will be completed before reopening. Staff and trustees announced a library open house scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 24 at 12:00 p.m.
The board also announced Justin Kingston as a city‑approved incoming board member (to start in January) and recognized Darius for his last meeting with the board. James Porter was named interim facility manager as Mike Hanna departs.
Trustees encouraged donations during a current match campaign (up to $15,000) and highlighted year-to-date foundation fundraising figures.
