Summary
Mayor Scott Faddis recapped the Geist Half Race attendance and volunteer support, announced final construction phases and a winter lineup at the Fishers Event Center, and highlighted recent rankings from realtor.com, USA Today and Livability.
Mayor Scott Faddis said the sixteenth annual Geist Half Race Series in September drew about 2,500 participants and relied on more than 350 volunteers.
Faddis said the Fishers Event Center at Fishers District has entered its final construction phases and that a winter season lineup has been announced, including performers Blake Shelton, Lindsey Stirling and Cirque du Soleil, as well as the local Mudsock rivalry basketball game. He directed listeners to fisherseventcenter.com for event details.
The mayor also highlighted third-party rankings: Fishers was named the best affordable small city in America by realtor.com, listed among the best cities in the Midwest by USA Today, and named one of the best places to live by Livability. He attributed those recognitions to Fishers' combination of small-town charm, industry, schools and safety rankings.
Faddis closed the recap by encouraging residents to enjoy fall activities such as visiting Fishers Acre Park and attending Boobash.
