Gloucester board adopts FY26 budget amendment and appropriations tied to school HVAC borrowing

Staff explained the amendment is required whenever adopted budget changes exceed 1% from the adopted figure; the primary cause was borrowing related to school HVAC projects. The administrator said staff pulled together items likely to require amendment so that further amendments could be avoided later in the year.
After a brief opportunity for public comment (none were offered), a resolution in the packet (page 122) was moved, seconded and approved by roll call. The board then moved and approved related appropriation resolutions (page 127) to allocate the amended funds.
The clerk recorded the affirmative roll-call votes and the chair announced the motions carried. Staff said the appropriations match the newly adopted budget and that standard reporting and follow-up will proceed.
