Gardner updates: pump repairs underway at transfer station; landfill erosion unfunded

Separately, Speaker 2 said the landfill-cap erosion repair currently has no funding. Staff have asked Keller Partners to search for grant opportunities and plan to apply for the state Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness program when applications open in January. Speaker 2 described that effort as exploratory but a necessary step to secure resources to fix cap erosion.
The board also heard operational details about routine tank pumping (every 10–14 days) and that staff coordinate with contractors to prevent overflow. No vote was taken; Speaker 2 said staff will meet the awarded contractor for a status update and will report back as work progresses.
What happens next: repairs continue under the awarded contract at the transfer station and staff will pursue grant funding for landfill erosion repair.
