Board updates emergency medical transport fees and administrative rules, unanimously approves ordinance

The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved an ordinance amending Chapter 38 of the county code to update administrative procedures and fee schedules for county emergency medical transport services.
Fire and emergency services staff told the board the amendments are intended to streamline administrative processing for certificates of public convenience and necessity, bring application and interfacility transfer fees into alignment with Medicaid reimbursement where appropriate, and correct fee language. "These amendments will improve our administrative process associated with emergency medical transportation service," the fire chief said during the public hearing.
No members of the public opposed the changes. A commissioner moved to approve the ordinance and the board voted 4-0 to adopt it and direct the chair and clerk to execute the ordinance.
What’s next: Staff will implement updated fee schedules and administrative steps described in the ordinance and will provide follow-up as necessary to affected providers and applicants.
