Council reviews vendor name change and term language for emergency signal equipment contract

City procurement staff told councilors they need to amend contract paperwork for equipment that enables emergency vehicles to preempt traffic signals after the vendor was acquired.
Staff said the vendor was GTT but has been bought by Miovision and will continue to operate under the GTT dba; the amendment adds explicit term and renewal language that was not present in the original ordinance. “We worked with Janet to make sure that the contract periods are right as well as the start dates,” staff said.
Councilors asked law to confirm the vendor name and to ensure the five‑year term and renewal option are properly reflected in the ordinance before final approval. Staff agreed to follow up with Catherine Conrad in the law office and to provide corrected contract language.
Next steps: Staff will confirm the contractor name and submit clean contract language for council review at a subsequent meeting.
