During the Jan. 1 meeting the Neighborhood Investment Committee received routine staff updates on grant spend-downs and agency business.
Staff said Finger Lakes ReUse had spent about 51 percent of its 2024 job-training award and expected another voucher with its quarterly report, and homeowner-rehab staff completed two emergency boiler repairs and had a third project in environmental review. Staff also said that some reimbursements for BHU and the Village at Ithaca had been processed after a short disconnect and that DICC had not yet responded to staff queries about a door-installation item.
Staff reported that the Common Council adopted the substantial amendments the committee previously recommended, reallocating funding to the Southside Community Center fire-panel project, Cass Park restrooms and INHS at 250 Cleveland Ave; staff will notify those organizations that their amendments were approved.
City planner Sam Quinn Jacobs has been developing a publicly available affordable-housing dashboard that will display planned and existing units; staff said they will share the link once it is launched. Staff also announced that IURA accountant Kim is leaving for a county accounting position and that the agency has posted a part-time-accountant vacancy with a near-term application deadline.
No formal committee action was required on these staff items; members asked staff to follow up with slow-moving grantees and to provide the dashboard link when available.
