Committee approves Class B liquor license for Delta Hotels by Marriott Green Bay

The Public Works and Protection Committee of the Village of Ashwaubenon on Tuesday approved a regular Class B intoxicating liquor license for LOF 2 Green Bay TRS LLC doing business as Delta Hotels by Marriott Green Bay.

Staff member Joe told the committee the Delta, at 2750 Ramada Way, previously had a license issued under an exception in Wisconsin State Statutes chapter 125 that applies when a hotel has 50 or more rooms and either an attached restaurant with seating for 150 or a banquet room with capacity exceeding 400. "That license was issued under an exception under Wisconsin State Statutes chapter 125," Joe said, but a recent interior remodel reduced the restaurant or banquet seating so the hotel no longer qualifies for that exception and must obtain a regular village-issued Class B combination license. "Staff has no objection to this," he added.

A committee member moved "to approve the regular Class B beer, Class B liquor license for LOF 2 Green Bay TRS LLC doing business as Delta Hotels by Marriott Green Bay," and another member seconded the motion. The committee voted by voice; the chair announced the motion carried and there were no recorded objections.

Committee members first approved the Nov. 4 meeting minutes earlier in the session. After approving the license, the committee closed its business, invited members to submit items for future agendas, moved to adjourn and ended the meeting with seasonal greetings.

The action means the hotel may continue to provide alcohol service under the village's quota-based regular Class B license rather than under the prior statutory exception. The committee did not discuss conditions or limitations tied to the license on the record.

Next procedural steps and any administrative paperwork required to issue the license were not specified during the meeting.
