Nampa council elects David Bills as council president after tied first vote

Clerk roll-call tallies recorded multiple yes and no votes across the two ballots; after the successful motion the presiding mayor congratulated Bills and thanked Reynolds for his service as the outgoing council president. Councilmembers commented that the council president role requires significant availability for Wednesday afternoon preparatory meetings and additional workload related to payables and financial reviews.
The council’s action resolved the statutory requirement and cleared the way for the remainder of the meeting’s organizational business.
