Staff explained the project would be a reconditioning rather than a full reconstruction, noting the road was last surfaced in 1996 and has had limited improvements in roughly 30 years. The township would need to hire an engineer to prepare plans; if awarded, the county would award the contract, administer payments through public works, and seek reimbursement from the state aid office. "The township does have some expense in it," Speaker 2 said, noting engineering costs and local match responsibilities.
Commissioner Milton Reyes moved to adopt the resolution and Commissioner Hargett seconded; the board approved the resolution by voice vote. Staff said Woodville Township had previously received funding for a different project in 2023, and that applying again puts the township on the state list for future awards.
