The Fairfax City Board of Architectural Review on Jan. 15 adopted an updated remote participation policy and held elections for board leadership.
Staff summarized key policy changes: the policy must now be adopted annually, it includes a definition of 'caregiver', and clarifies that remote participation by a person with a disability or their caregiver counts toward quorum. The board moved to adopt the updated policy and voted unanimously.
The board also elected leadership for the coming term. Anna Wei was nominated and approved as chair; Mr. Patel was nominated for re-election as vice chair and accepted. The board recorded unanimous support for the slate.
During closing comments staff announced administrative approvals since the last meeting and that the Feb. 5 BAR meeting will be canceled. A staff member also noted a personal name change to Anna McClintock.
