Ordinances: On second reading the commission adopted three ordinances, each recorded as approved on roll call. Ordinance 10a amended parking-related sections of the city code (stopping and parking prohibitions, disabled parking and parking citation fines) and was adopted unanimously. Ordinance 10b revised zoning code provisions related to care facilities and was adopted on second reading 5-0. Ordinance 10c created a maintenance-of-traffic permit program; the city attorney proposed and the commission accepted clarifying scrivener amendments before adopting the ordinance 5-0.

Personnel actions: The commission conducted the annual evaluation of City Manager Dr. Earl, with multiple commissioners praising his leadership and accomplishments. The mayor moved and the commission approved a 5% increase for Dr. Earl on a roll-call vote; the motion carried with all recorded votes in the affirmative. Commissioners also recognized the city clerks recent academic achievement and noted that the clerks contract provides an automatic 5% increase.
Mask-ordinance research directive: The mayor moved and the commission voted 5-0 to direct the city attorney to research language used in other municipal ordinances (including Miamis) and to draft a local ordinance that would limit mask use by people not engaged in construction or landscaping activities and to assess enforceability and penalties with police and the attorneys office.
