The Muncie-Delaware Metropolitan Plan Commission confirmed multiple member reappointments, retained its current legal counsel and elected to retain its existing officers at its first 2026 meeting.

Board staff announced that Steven Brand will continue as the county commissioner representative and Jerry Dishman remains the city council representative. Richard Ivy, Owen Lachey and Jesse Landis were reappointed to new three-year terms. Amanda Bullion of Purdue Extension introduced Emily Kring as the incoming Ag and Natural Resources educator who will serve as the county's Purdue Extension liaison.

An unidentified member moved to retain the commission's current counsel; the motion was seconded and the body confirmed retention of the office's counsel, identified in discussion as Mr. Murphy. The commission also opened nominations for officers, heard a motion to retain the current officers and voted to keep Mister Smith as president and Mister Carroll as vice president.

The body approved the Dec. 2025 meeting minutes with a minor wording correction on a roll-call vote that recorded six yeses and one abstention (Mister Landis). There were no legislative actions reported at this meeting.

Next procedural steps noted by staff included distribution of an electronic copy of the annual packet to board members and continued outreach to other bodies later in the year.
