Washington noted an error in the uploaded operating agreement title that incorrectly named the fall Lakefront Marathon; the committee directed staff to upload the correct operating agreement showing "Milwaukee Marathon" in the file.
Event operations management said the permittee covers police and sheriff costs and that DPW invoices for meter hoods and no-parking signage. "By nature of this agreement, they take on all costs," the DPW presenter said. The event manager said the sponsor covers 100% of police and sheriff costs and that DPW services are invoiced per the city's special-event schedule.
Aldermen approved an amendment to the posted operating agreement to correct the event name and then moved adoption of the file as amended; no objections were recorded.
The committee instructed staff to upload the corrected agreement to the file record and to continue the standard practice of invoicing applicable DPW services and MPD overtime to the permittee after the event when appropriate.
