Public commenters and former commissioners addressed the committee, citing the commission’s large budget (described in testimony as north of $700 million) and the need for both lived experience and fiscal oversight.
Supervisor Dorsey moved to recommend Thomas James Rocca for Seat 6, citing his housing development and recovery background; the motion passed without objection.
The committee also considered two mayoral nominations (Items 5 and 6). Obai Rambo spoke about experiencing housing insecurity and his commitment to coordinated, humane responses; Dante Ball described Bayview small‑business leadership and work with youth.
