Supervisor Shamone Walton called Item 1 to consider appointments to the Housing Authority Board of Commissioners. Sharon Lai told the committee she grew up in public housing, works in community development and city planning with nearly two decades of San Francisco experience and oversees resident services and community planning at a Bay Area nonprofit.

Cynthia Alvarez said she is president and CEO of Christian Church Homes, an affordable housing nonprofit operating in six states, and emphasized experience in compliance, governance, finance and centering residents in policy and services. Chair Walton moved to recommend Sharon Lai for seat 6 and Cynthia Alvarez for seat 7 to the full Board of Supervisors; the committee recorded ayes from Vice Chair Cheryl, Member Madelmann and Chair Walton and the motion passed without objection.
