Mobile medical van expands free primary and behavioral health access on Treasure Island

At the TIDA on‑island meeting, 1 Treasure Island executive director Nela Gonzales highlighted a partnership with HealthRight 360 to provide free mobile medical services to island residents. Gonzales said the van has two exam rooms and began community service rollouts on Oct. 23; scheduled community access is Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1202 Mariner Drive and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sherry Williams Community Center.
Gonzales said the mobile unit offers primary medical care, mental‑health services and substance‑use disorder treatment, prioritizes patients who are uninsured or on Medi‑Cal and can refer patients to ongoing care when needed. She noted the service targets unhoused residents and encouraged community members to call the community center for more information.
Why it matters: Treasure Island has limited on‑island clinical services outside emergency calls to 911. The mobile van provides regular on‑island access to medical and behavioral‑health services that can improve care continuity for vulnerable residents, including people experiencing homelessness.
