The San Francisco Police Commission on Nov. 19 recognized two patrol officers for recent work in their neighborhoods. Captain Sean Perdomo of Mission Station presented Officer Bernarda Chacon Gonzalez (star 1428) with an officer recognition certificate, citing leadership during training, 123 arrests and a Oct. 24, 2025 arrest of a person found in possession of a firearm. “She turned out to be the officer I thought she would be — an assertive, hard worker,” Perdomo said during the presentation.
Commissioners praised Chacon’s community ties and language skills; Perdomo noted she grew up in the Mission District and is a native Spanish speaker whose ability to communicate with victims helped secure evidence in at least one robbery case. Deputy Chief Nicole Jones and several commissioners lauded Chacon and invited family members and colleagues to stand for recognition.
The commission also honored Officer Paul Carr (star 1530) of Bayview Station. Captain Bernadette Robinson said Carr, who has served about eight years at Bayview, often checks on people living in RVs and works with the department’s Neighborhood Response Team and the fire department to connect vulnerable residents to services. “He does that with respect. He does that with honor,” Robinson said. Commissioners applauded Carr’s outreach and said the approach reflects the department’s community‑oriented goals.
Both presentations were followed by brief public comment periods that produced no additional speakers for the line item. The commission resumed its agenda after the recognitions.
