Committee backs two-year extension for ActiveNet recreation registration system

On Dec. 3 the Budget and Finance Committee voted to forward to the full Board a two-year extension of the Recreation and Parks Department contract with Active Network LLC (ActiveNet) through Dec. 31, 2027, with no change to the approximately $100,000 annual contract amount.
Anne Marie Donnelly, assistant superintendent for recreation and community services, said ActiveNet is the department’s business software for program registration, memberships, point-of-sale transactions, permit processing and facility reservations; the system processes over $20 million in financial transactions annually for Rec and Park. The department said a contract lapse would disrupt regular business operations and asked for the two-year extension.
No members of the public spoke on item 12. The committee recorded three ayes and forwarded the extension to the full Board with positive recommendation.
