Patricia Cook, who testified in support, cited the nominee’s past community leadership and involvement in local school and Blue Zones initiatives as reasons to confirm him. Several councilmembers spoke in favor on the record, praising the nominee’s community connections, experience at KTA Superstores and support for local agriculture; council discussion touched on expectations that the Board of Water Supply will work to secure water resources for under‑served and agricultural communities.
A motion to close file and forward the nomination (mover: Councilmember Inaba; second: Councilmember Eustace) passed by voice vote; the clerk recorded nine ayes. With the committee’s favorable recommendation the nomination will now come before the full County Council for confirmation.
