Anderson gave the estimated minimum cost at about $2.5 million.
Several residents and association leaders urged swift action at the meeting, warning that bridge failures or other incidents could isolate hundreds of people. Commissioner Kutsinger said a long detour was impractical for emergency response. After discussion the board directed staff to move forward with the temporary full‑access option; commissioners emphasized monitoring construction standards and the risk that the temporary road could require future repairs if damaged by storms.
Staff said they would return with implementation details, permitting plans and a funding recommendation.
