Sarasota leaders highlight growth of Breeze on-demand service and study Bay Runner transfer

Jane Grogg, a transit executive leading Breeze services, told a joint meeting of the City of Sarasota and the Sarasota County Commission that the countycity mobility system has shifted heavily toward on-demand service since 2021 and that the change has increased reach while keeping countywide coverage. "We've exceeded 1,000,000 rides on this service alone," Grogg said, adding that the on-demand program provided 386,000 rides in 2024 and averages about 18.5 minutes for pickups.
