WELLINGTON — Village staff told the Planning, Zoning & Adjustment Board on Nov. 19 that Wellington plans to apply for a 2025–26 Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant seeking approximately $1,500,000 to fund improvements at Village Park.
Staff said the LWCF application requirement included placing the project on a board agenda for review; they added that the application requires a match and that the deadline is next month. No action was required or taken by the board at the meeting.
The staff presentation described eligible uses for LWCF funding (land acquisition, conservation areas, trails and park facilities) and noted details would be determined if the grant is awarded.
