Village staff and the Florida Code Compliance Association presented an agency accreditation recognizing Wellington’s code compliance program; staff said the accreditation reflects statewide best practices and the village hosted a photo opportunity with the presenter.
Wellington’s Code Compliance Division was honored during the council’s agenda review when staff accepted an agency accreditation from the Florida Code Compliance Association. Mister Stillings introduced the recognition and invited Chris Aldon, president and founder of the Florida Code Compliance Association, to present the certificate.
Aldon said the accreditation “reflects that Wellington is pursuing the best practices in the areas of code compliance involving agency administration, staff, professional development, case management,” and noted the designation promotes a “uniform and consistent level of professionalism and level of service across all code compliance agencies.” Staff said Wellington was among the first agencies in Florida to receive the accreditation.
Council members and staff briefly left for a photo opportunity with the certificate before resuming the agenda. No formal council action was recorded during the agenda review portion concerning the accreditation; the recognition was presented as a ceremonial item and staff indicated they would share the certificate publicly.
