The Novi Community School District Board of Education completed its annual organizational business Jan. 8, electing officers for the 2026 calendar year.

Board member Mr. Michener moved to elect Daniel Ruskin as board president; the motion was supported and approved by voice vote. Subsequent motions to elect Betsy Beaudwine as vice president, Paul Cook as secretary and Jamie Clebert as treasurer were each recommended, seconded and carried by the board with votes announced as 7 to 0.

Board members said the slate followed conversations at a December organizational preparation meeting and reflected preferences discussed by trustees in advance. The chair noted the process included prior dialogue so the nominations moved efficiently on the floor.

The board will continue its regular meeting schedule and committee calendar for 2026-27, which members approved during the same session. No further discussion or amendments to the officer appointments were recorded.

The board adjourned the organizational portion of the meeting and proceeded with the regular agenda.
