The MPO Policy Board for the Area Plan Commission of Tippecanoe County on Jan. 8 approved Resolution T25-19 to amend the 2026–2030 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) to add a countywide bridge inspection program covering fiscal years 2027 through 2030.
Doug, presenting for APC staff, told the board that Tippecanoe County requested the addition as part of a normal four‑year inspection cycle. "We have a request from Tippecanoe County to amend the TIP regarding a new county wide bridge inspection program," Doug said, adding the submitted report includes yearly breakdowns by phase and dollar amount. He said the overall project cost is over $1,000,000 and that federal funds will pay for most of the inspection work. APC staff and the Technical Transportation Committee recommended approval.
The board took a roll-call vote and approved the resolution. The vote was recorded in the meeting minutes as ayes by the members present and the resolution was adopted.
The amendment adds the inspection program into the TIP and schedules inspection phases and funding through 2030. APC staff said the change ensures the county can obligate federal funds and proceed with consultant work for right‑of‑way and property acquisition where required.
The board did not record any motions to amend the resolution during the meeting; the presentation and vote occurred during the same agenda item. The next step will be for staff to document the TIP amendment and proceed with the programmed inspection work and associated federal obligations.
