Parish finance and the special projects division presented an internal waste assessment for fiscal year 2025 that identified potential recurring savings totaling about $62,950.

The team examined utilities, leased equipment, maintenance agreements and office consumables across more than 20 government buildings and recommended centralized oversight, annual cost analyses and streamlined contracts. Examples cited included terminating a phone line paid since 2013 for an unused precinct and comparing long-term rental versus purchase of equipment.

The report’s authors said the review is only a first pass and pledged to continue identifying efficiencies. Councilmembers applauded the effort and encouraged continued review of line items in the budget.
