The Scotland County Board of Commissioners approved rezoning application 544‑25 to reclassify a 0.41‑acre parcel at 6790 O'Wire Road from Residential‑Agriculture (RA) to Highway Commercial. Brooke McQueen, the county zoning official, said the planning and zoning board recommended approval and that required neighbor notifications were made.
Applicant Calvin R. Gibson described the proposed use as a takeout and commissary operation rather than a dine‑in restaurant. Commissioners asked clarifying questions about location and use; two nearby neighbors had appeared at the planning and zoning meeting in favor of the application.
The board moved, seconded and approved the rezoning on the record.
