The electric commission issued 13 liquor licenses in December, the speaker said. All taxing bodies filed levies with the county by the Dec. 27 statutory deadline, and the clerks office will distribute yellow Statement of Economic Interest (SEI) forms to board contacts this week to verify board membership and filing obligations.

Speaker 4 said the state board of elections must first certify the candidate list before the county prepares sample ballots. Early voting was noted to begin on Feb. 5. The office has been contacting nursing homes to confirm resident voter lists and is assigning election judges for the upcoming election.
