Carroll County supervisors elect Joey Dixon chairman, Tracy Moore vice chairman

The Carroll County Board of Supervisors elected Joey Dixon as its chairman and Tracy Moore as vice chairman during the board’s Jan. 5 organizational meeting.
Dixon was nominated from the floor and was elected after a roll-call vote in which he abstained from voting for himself. Tracy Moore was nominated and elected vice chairman; the transcript records the nominee abstaining and the remaining members voting in favor.
The board also adopted its regular meeting schedule — the first Monday of each month at 6 p.m., except in September when the meeting will be held on Tuesday for Labor Day — and approved the rules and procedures, code of ethics, and nondisclosure materials provided in the meeting packet. Those governance items were approved by recorded roll-call votes.
Chairman Dixon opened the meeting with an invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance before board elections were conducted. The board then moved through routine business, approving minutes and other procedural items on voice and roll-call votes.
The meeting concluded after taking routine administrative actions and receiving brief member comments and staff updates.
The next scheduled meeting is the board’s regular monthly meeting under the adopted schedule.
